VDOT ROADS

Don Komara, VDOT Residency Administrator discussed the VDOT status report of September 24, 2018.

The Board accepted the report as information.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Rebekah Castle, Marketing Assistant, discussed the Economic Development monthly report of August, 2018.

The Board accepted the monthly report as information.

FIRE AND RESCUE

Ronald Mastin, Intern Fire Chief, discussed the Fire and Rescue monthly report of August, 2018.

The Board accepted the monthly report as information.

MS4 PROGRAM UPDATES

Doug Wolfe, Engineer, discussed the Stormwater Local Assistance Fund Grant application submittal for the following:

1) Emerald Hills Detention 2) Nutrient Credit Purchase The Board authorized placing on the September 26, 2018 regular meeting agenda.

PLANNING COMMISSION/PUBLIC HEARING

John Wilkinson, Director of Community Development, discussed the following:

1) Discuss a request to rezone approximately 8.5 acres from General Agriculture to General Business with proffer owned by Kenneth Ray Bradley, Jr., Inc. and located on the east side of East Side Highway (Rt 340), approximately .17 of a mile south of Dooms Crossing Road (Rt 611) in the Wayne District. The Planning Commission recommends approval with proffer.

2) Discuss a request to rezone from General Agriculture to Single Family Residential approximately 40 acres with proffer owned by Garland F. Jr., or Melony Easter and Garland F. Evelyn B. Easter located on the east side of Old Goose Creek Road (Rt 640), approximately 1.04 miles west of the intersection of Old Goose Creek Road and Lifecore Drive (Rt 636) in Fishersville in the Wayne District. The Planning Commission recommends approval with proffer.

The Board authorized placing all of the above on the September 26, 2018 regular meeting agenda.

WAIVERS — NONE

MATTERS TO BE PRESENTED BY THE BOARD

Ms. Bragg went over calendar reminders and gave the dates of the solar tour.

Ms. Carter mentioned the VDEM Grant. She also asked for follow up on Hurricane Florence.

Mr. Shull discussed the Ag Industry Board’s solar presentation.

Mr. Garber discussed the press and comments on the pipeline.

MATTERS TO BE PRESENTED BY STAFF

Jennifer Whetzel, Deputy County Administrator discussed the following:

1) The Emergency Service Declaration will be terminated at the Wednesday night Board of Supervisors meeting. Staff is working on the initial damage assessment.

2) Reassessment notices will be mailed next week.

3) Legislative breakfast is October 3 at 8:30 a.m.

4) The initial Broadband Committee meeting will be held October 3 at 7:00 p.m.

5) The Hazardous Material Waste Day has been rescheduled to October 13.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no other business to come before the Board, Mr. Shull moved, seconded by Mr. Coleman, the Board adjourn subject to call of the Chairman.

Vote was as follows: Yeas: Coleman, Bragg, Garber, Kelley, Shull, Pattie and Carter Nays: None Motion carried.
