REVIEW OF PRIORITY LIST – 2014

Jane Woods, Legislative Liaison, gave a review of the Legislative Issues, Priorities, and Proposals 2014 Virginia General Assembly.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COMMENTS

The Board explained the following issues:

1. School Funding 2. Stormwater Management 3. Volunteer Fire and Rescue Training

AUGUSTA COUNTY SCHOOL ISSUES

Dr. Chuck Bishop, Augusta County School Superintendent, reviewed comments included in County’s Legislative Package regarding school funding.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY ISSUES

Delegate Richard P. “Dickie” Bell provided his insight into possibility of School Funding Formula changes and his concerns regarding Stormwater Management oversight by State.

Aides for Senator Hanger, Delegate Landes and Delegate Cline shared insight into their Senator/Delegates thoughts regarding local legislative priorities.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no other business to come before the Board, Mr. Beyeler moved, seconded by Mr. Moore, the Board adjourned subject to call of the Chairman.

Vote was as follows: Yeas: Pattie, Karaffa, Shull, Moore, Beyeler, Wills and Pyles Nays: None Motion carried.
