VIRGINIA: At a special meeting of the Augusta County Board of Supervisors held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at 4:00 p.m., at the Government Center, Verona, Virginia, and in the 243rd year of the Commonwealth….

Chairman Garber called the meeting to order.

The Board reviewed the minutes from January 23, 2018 Priority meeting and noted projects completed and projects still underway.

MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT PRIORITIES – 2019

WAYNE:

1. Lifecore, Walking Trail agreement a. Parking area-get land donated b. Amenities on Lifecore (benches, etc.) 2. Goose Creek Watershed

3. VDOT

a. Round-a-bout b. Route 358 c. Route 608 contract for turn lane d. Barren Ridge e. Sangers Lane-plan, maintenance items, safety, RRR sections 4. Concession stand-Wilson Memorial High School 5. Playground at Wilson Elementary School 5. Old School Board buildings-Brownsfield grant future use 6. Litter Control 7. Crozet Tunnel 8. Reporting complaints and issues document

BEVERLEY MANOR:

Board members presented their thoughts on countywide issues. The following issues were presented:

1. Re-energize Parks & Recreation Commission 2. Fire & Rescue direction 3. Career & Technical Center Plan Implement Foundation established 4. Economic Development 5. Courthouse 6. Capital Program

DEPARTMENT HEAD PRIORITIES

1. Library-Weyers Cave/Verona 2. Permanent Stuarts Draft location 3. Stuarts Draft pool re-surface, Natural Chimneys pool renovation 4. Natural Chimneys Visitors Center roof 5. Park facility assessment-existing 6. Fire & Rescue Strategic Plan 7. Pipeline 8. Solar 9. 911-Radio Project-NG911-2020 deadline 10. Department of Social Services/Human Resources evaluation system 11. Office on Youth phase 2 needs assessment 12. Financial software kickoff 13. Policy and Procedures Manual update 14. Infrastructure needs/Plans for County Buildings 15. Sell Ladd 16. Move 4-H Tech from part-time to full-time 17. Improve site readiness 18. Implement Social Services software changes (State) 19. Finish Real Estate classes Mr. Fitzgerald thanked the Board for providing input in the priorities presented today.

Their thoughts will help staff focus on what the Board feels important and provides a basis in which budget decisions going forward can be made.

Chairman Garber also thanked the Board for their participation. He felt the meeting was very beneficial and provided guidance moving forward.
