VDOT ROADS
The Board discussed the VDOT status report of March 25, 2013, staff briefing meeting.
The Board accepted monthly report as information.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The Board discussed the Economic Development status report of March 25, 2013, staff briefing meeting.
The Board accepted monthly report as information. Economic Development staff made two proposals:
A) Request funding of Engineering Services for Mill Place Commerce Park BMP #3 Funding Source: CIP Economic Development Account #80000-8145 $4,500 B) Funding of Engineering Services for Mill Place Commerce Park Lot 13 Mass Grading Plan.
Funding Source: Beverley Manor Infrastructure Account #80000-8011-66 $8,400* *Account to be refunded from TIF Account.
The Board authorized placing on April 24, 2013 regular agenda for consideration.
FIRE AND RESCUE
The Board discussed the Fire and Rescue status report of March 25, 2013, staff briefing meeting.
The Board accepted monthly report as information.
SHERANDO COMPACTOR SITE PAVING
The Board discussed award of bid for the paving project for the Sherando Compactor Site.
Funding Source: South River Infrastructure Account #80000-8016-73 $52,000 The Board authorized placing on April 24, 2013 regular agenda for consideration.
BUFFALO GAP MUSIC BOOSTERS REQUEST – RABIE CLINIC
The Board discussed request to hold a rabies clinic for the purpose of rabies vaccination for cats and dogs at the Buffalo Gap High School on Saturday, May 25, 2013 (Pastures District).
The Board authorized placing on April 24, 2013 consent agenda for consideration.
AUGUSTA ARCHERS, INC. – TAX EXEMPT ORDINANCE
The Board discussed authorization for County Attorney to draft ordinance to exempt certain real and personal property owned by Augusta Archers, Inc. for real and personal property taxation (Beverley Manor District).
The Board authorized placing on the pending file for future consideration.
GREENVILLE SEWER UPDATE
The Board received a presentation by staff on status of project (Riverheads District).
The Board accepted presentation as information.
EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION STATUS REPORT
The Board received a presentation by staff on status of ECC upgrades/expansions.
The Board accepted presentation as information.
WAIVERS/VARIANCES
The Board received Creative Works Farm Fire Flow waiver request.
The Board authorized deferring to May 8, 2013 regular agenda for consideration.
MATTERS TO BE PRESENTED BY THE BOARD
The Board discussed the following:
Mr. Wills: Reassessment minutes distributed to the Board.
Mr. Pyles: School Budget – report on copiers and water distributed to the Board.
Questioned Buffalo Gap surplus property management.
MATTERS TO BE PRESENTED BY STAFF
Staff discussed the following:
1. “The Thomas Jefferson Institute for Public Policy – Tax Restructuring in Virginia” – available to the Board for review.
2. Department of Conservation and Recreation staff has supported County’s request for extension. (Stormwater management program – a 12-month extension (June 13, 2013).
3. VACo Legislative Summary is available to the Board for review.
4. Budget Hearing – commended staff for the preparation for 350+ citizens at Public Hearing.
